The Dutchess County Department of Public Works announced that the replacement of a bridge on Ridge Road in the town of Dover had been completed, and the structure had been opened to traffic.
Work on the bridge began in the Spring and included replacing the structure, located over the Mill River near the intersection of Cooperstown Road, with a new, wider bridge that includes three-foot shoulders and slightly straightening the surrounding roadway to improve motorists' safety.
The department said the project was completed on time and within budget.
This section of Ridge Road averages approximately 522 vehicles per day.
